Karin Whitney Viafore of Duxbury, Massachusetts died peacefully on January 25, 2011 while struggling with the effects of breast cancer. She fought a courageous battle with dignity, strength and perseverance and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Karin was born in Concord, Massachusetts on August 23, 1952. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Viafore, her adoring children, Ginny and Geoff Thames and Scott Viafore, her amazing parents, Connie and Milla Lehto, her supportive sisters and their husbands, Steph and Bill Susetka, Kris and Harry Herrick, Suzie and John Morgan, her two comforting cats, Jinxy and Bluebell, as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her extended family also included the gymnastics community where she was admired for her skill, passion and sense of humor. Besides her family and gymnastics, she loved gardening, shopping, games, crafts and the Boston Red Sox. The world lost a kind, generous and unique individual. She will always be with us and never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on January 28th at Shepherds Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, Massachusetts. A Memorial service will be held on January 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Union Church of Stow, 317 Great Road, Stow, Massachusetts.
