Robert J. Martin of Pembroke died on December 16, 2007. He was 66 years old. Mr. Martin was born in Plymouth, and raised in Pembroke. He is a graduate of Silver Lake High School’s class of 1959. Following his graduation from high school, Mr. Martin enlisted in the United States Navy, and served from 1959 - 1963. Mr. Martin is the past Commander of the American Legion district 10, and Past Post 22 Commander in Whitman. He was also the past District 10 Director of American Legion Baseball, and a member of the Whitman V.F.W. Mr. Martin enjoyed collecting stamps, and military paraphernalia. Mr. Martin is survived by his Wife, Valerie Martin of Bryantville. Father of Deborah Anderson of NE, and John Martin of Pembroke. Son of Adeline (Fernez) martin, and the late Erwin Martin. Brother of Francis Martin of LA, Roy Martin of VA, Allen Rock of Pembroke, Ronald Rock of ME, Suzanne Reardon of Plymouth, and Cynthia Holford of FL. Grandfather of 7, and Great Grandfather of 2. Also survived by many nieces, and Nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 19th from 4-8:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 20th at 10:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery in Plymouth. Donations may be made in Robert’s name to: American diabetes Assoc. 7 Washington Sq. Albany, NY 12205.
