Obituary of Joan M. Bradley

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan Marie Bradley December 25, 1933 – February 14, 2018 On Valentine’s Day our Mom left us for a bittersweet reunion with her husband, Ken; parents; siblings Jimmy, Rusty, Eddie, Sis, Marie, & Alberta; and many loved family members and friends. We believe they all came to meet and guide her to a joyous reunion in heaven on the date of her own mother’s birthday. Joan was the consummate selfless mother who always put the needs of others before her own. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester after the death of her own mother at the age of two, Joan faced many struggles in her life but always aspired to succeed. Mom married a handsome Navy gunner in 1954 and celebrated 58 years of marriage before he predeceased her five years ago. Stepmom to Ken and Cheryl, Joan had six more children-- five daughters and one son—Anne, Mary, Pam, Sandy, John, and Laurie. Continuing in her selfless and unassuming way, Nana Bradley welcomed twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren into the Bradley clan. The family will celebrate Joan’s life at Shepherd’s Funeral Home at 216 Main Street in Kingston on Monday, February 19th with calling hours from 3:00-7:00 P.M. A mass of Christian burial will follow on Tuesday, February 20th, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Think of our mom, Joan, and celebrate the amazing woman she was with a hot cup of tea and a smile for the simple pleasures of life. Donations in Joan's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
